laKe
district
In February, my son Mark
and I went to the Lake District on a solemn
pilgrimage. Also, to soak up the unique experience of being
back in the Lakes and, hopefully, to have a good day on the hill.
The Langdale Pikes at sunset
from Jenkin Crag.
From above Waterhead looking
towards Skelwith Bridge.
Before breakfast view of
The Britannia, Elterwater.
Marauding bands of sheep
roam the sleeping village ...
... while Mark has been
seeking a signal to contact civilisation ...
... or is he calling for
assistance?
After breakfast, on our
way up Langdale to The Old Dungeon Ghyll car park.
Cloud clearing off Crinkle
Crags and the solid frozen beck!
