Macc
in January 2003
I received
my Canon PowerShot G2 digital camera early in the month and these
are some of the first pictures I took after mastering some of
the intricacies of associated software and the operation of the
camera itself. Some of the pictures stray into February, but unless
I show the progress of snowdrops and crocuses who's going to be
able to tell! (Except where I give the game away!)
Do you
know where Macclesfield is located?

Sheffield
and Chesterfield are, surely, known and Chapel is 'en-le-Frith'
self styled capital of the High Peak! Please don't ask whereabouts
the LOW Peak lies!
Setting
the scene, with a view of the parish church from Waters Green
outside Cookson's garage showroom, on a damp January afternoon.
Maybe some
hot spicy food would warm us up?
From Sparrow
Park behind St Michael's, the station footbridge, Hovis' Mill
and Tegg's Nose stretch out away from us
In the churchyard
a 'fallen' angel, surplus to requirements on the building, seeks
to take flight from under the churchyard wall.
Inside the
parish church of St Michael and All Angels is this Mediaeval tomb
in the Savage Chapel.
A new history:
'The Church in the Market Place' by Jane Laughton, was launched
on 15 February 2003 at the Parish Church in aid of funds to re-order
the interior of the church to allow for a wider range of activities.

Oh! That's
where we are! Buxton Road, heading homewards, late afternoon.
The setting
sun from Buxton Road, just below the junction with the Old Road,
with the new moon caught in the twigs of the tree.
